The prayer ministry exists to build the prayer life of each church member and to lift each other's needs in prayer. As we do these things we build our relationships with God and each other. We can also reach out to the community - it often means a lot to people when they know we are praying for them.

We pray for people's needs precisely because they are completely beyond our strength and power to resolve and sometimes even to really understand. Only God has the strength to be aware of and care for people's darkest sorrow and suffering, only He has the power and wisdom to answer prayer. The power of our prayers doesn't result from our compassion for those those in need but from the love and power of the God to whom we lift them. With each prayer we can rest in His character and in the perfect intercession of the Holy Spirit.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray continually.

Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
