What is Journey?

Journey exists to help men cultivate deep, meaningful relationships with God and one another.

What is a Journey Group?

A Journey Group is a group of three to five men sharing the journey of life together. They meet weekly to encourage one another in their relationship with God, to cultivate friendships that will help one another get the most out of life and weather the storms that will come, and to keep each other accountable as followers of Jesus.

There is no set regimen for the group, but instead there are three goals:
Cultivate authentic relationships: Journey Groups seek to cultivate a genuine and growing passion for God (Ps. 37:4) and deepening relationships with one another (Eph. 2:22).

  1. Deepen our Understanding of God : Journey Groups seek to grow in the knowledge and grace Help each other Move into Action: of Jesus (II Pet. 3:18), to discern how God has called us to live, and access His power to live that life through reading and discussing Scripture and/or relevant books that strengthen our faith in Jesus.
  2. Help each other Move into Action: Journey Groups encourage one another toward love and good deeds (Heb. 10:24) among group members, in the larger church, in our community, and the world. Members encourage and exhort one another in the pursuit of holiness (Heb. 3:13), pray for one another and keep each other accountable (Jas. 5:16).

Journey Format
Monthly Meetings in Large Group: All the men will gather together on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 6:30am. The large group will meet in three month seasons (fall, winter, and spring). These large group meetings encourage broader fellowship among the men, & will focus on worship, teaching, equipping, & training men in specific areas of life & faith.
Weekly Meetings in Small Group: Journey Groups of three to five men will meet on a weekly basis. These are the marks of a Journey Group:

COMMUNITY: Many men will go through life without a close friend. God calls us to so much more. He calls us to deep friendships (Ecc 4:9-12).

ACCOUNTABILITY: We desire to help each other grow in grace & walk away from sin (Gal. 6:1).

CONFIDENTIALITY: We want to build trusting relationships that help us walk through the challenges of life together (Matt. 18:15-17).

FLEXIBILITY: Materials for discussion are up to the group. They may go through a book that challenges and encourages their faith, or Scripture together. The day, time, & place of meeting is also flexible: coffee in the early morning, lunch, or evening,. (Matt. 18:20)

REPRODUCIBILITY: We desire that more & more men would experience a growing relationship with God & one another. So we are open to inviting new men into groups & forming new groups. (II Tim. 2:2)
